Prince Arthur Cup 16 May 2019

Forty eight Livery company teams assembled at Walton Heath Golf Club for the annual Livery Companies Golfing Society competition. We were greeted with almost ideal conditions of sunshine and a gentle summer breeze.

Walton Heath G C founded in 1903 has been the venue for many prestigious events too many to mention but include the Ryder Cup in 1981 and more recently the British Masters in 2018 and features in the world top 100 courses.

After a coffee and bacon roll we set off to play the Old Course partnered by teams from The Mercers and The Fan Makers. Our pairing of Bernard and Philip did exceptionally well with a score of -1 finishing runners up to the Merchant Taylors` with 0.

After an excellent four course lunch our teams found the afternoon round on the New Course a little more hard going but none the less very enjoyable.

While we were treated to afternoon tea all the scores were being calculated and with both our pairings scores added together for both the old and new course we finished 31st out of a total of 48 teams.
