Archie Stoke-Faiers presented with his tools for World Skills Finals in Abu Dhabi between 15 and 18 October 2017

 
Peter Clark, Master of The Worshipful Company of Masons presented a set of tools to Yeoman Mason Archie Stoke-Faiers on Monday 17 July 2017 on behalf of The Craft Fund Trustees as ‘ Big Ben’ struck 3pm.
 
Archie is representing the UK in the stone masonry and carving competition at the World Skills Finals in Abu Dhabi between 15 and 18 October 2017.  He is one of our talented stone masons and is being mentored by Freeman Kevin Calpin.
 
Archie has several training sessions before his trip to compete in the finals and he will be using the tools that he was awarded at his first training session in York between 18 and 21 July 2017.
 
Archie has a workshop in The Town Mill in Lyme Regis, Dorset where you can see him carving and sculpting. 
 
 
Archie said, ” I am really looking forward to the competition in Abu Dhabi in October 2017 and I am very grateful for the tools presented to me today by The Worshipful Company of Masons’ Craft Fund Trustees.”
 
The tools were supplied and engraved by G Gibson & Company Limited who supply engraved tools to the Craft Fund Trustees.
 
Peter Clark said, "I enjoyed watching some of our very talented stone masons who took part in the Heritage Skills Festival at Lincoln Cathedral on 23 and 24 June 2017.  Archie was trained at Weymouth College and we wish him every success in the competition and his chosen career working in stone."
