The Company

The Worshipful Company of Masons is one of the Ancient Livery Companies of the City of London, ranked thirtieth in order of precedence. Founded in early medieval times its members have been involved in the creation of most of the iconic stone buildings and structures in the Cities of London and Westminster.

The craft of stonemasonry is alive today and the Company is at the forefront of supporting that craft.

Subsections to this part of our website cover our history and our future, our leaders and membership, our association with important organisations involved with training developments and our heritage plus our links with the Royal Engineers.

As a Company of the City of London we have particular role to play in support of the City and there are subsections devoted to this relationship and the work of the City.

We publish our Newsletter, Tablets’ documenting the affairs of the Company together with articles of general interest on our industry and craft – current and back copies can be found in the relevant subsection.  We highlight newsworthy and technical articles and maintain an archive of these articles.

To access any subsection click on its title in the column on the left of this page.
